Description
The harvest moon happens near the autumnal equinox and rises for several days right as the sun sets. This would give farmers a little more light to work by to harvest their crops. And so this became known as the Harvest moon. For photographers it is also good time to capture the moon with landscape because it is much easier to expose for both the moon and the landscape. In this image the last light of the sunset warms the harvest hills. The moon rises and dust created from harvest generates beautiful shades of purple in the sky. The image was taken on the edge of what is known as the Palouse in Eastern Washington.
