Artist's Description
Every year, snow geese migrate to the Skagit Valley to winter. Farmers plant winter wheat and grass for the geese. While hunting is permitted, many areas are protected. The geese can easily number over 50,000 once they have all arrived. It is really quite the experience to see them in person. They are very loud but with so many photographic opportunities. Taking off and landing from field to field in small and large groups. Then, the bald eagles will fly over causing thousands to "Panic" and take flight. If you have the chance, this is a great experience. But a word of warning, make sure you are close to your car if a large group of geese suddenly take off and fly over you. Chances are good you will be splattered from above :)

My photography focus is primarily nature and wildlife. I have a strong passion for the outdoors, capturing images that help preserve the numerous public lands and all that they offer. My travels take me all over the western united states to the common and not so common places. Many of my photos concentrate on the National Parks of Glacier, Yellowstone, Grand Tetons, and Arches National Parks.
