Description
Located in the townsite of Waterton, Cameron falls is just one of the many beautiful sites in this small resort/park village. Wateron Township is the central hub of Waterton Lakes National Park in Alberta Canada. Not to big to distract from the amazing Mountainous Landscape but just big enough to have a little of everything. Nice little shops and restaurants with panorama views of Waterton lake and the Canadian Rockies. On very rare occasions, after a heavy rain fall, Cameron Falls turns red. A sediment that is red in color is washed from the rocks causing this unique phenomenon. The rocks that Cameron Creek flow over are the oldest in the Canadian Rockies. The Precambrian bedrock is dated at 1.5 billion years old.
