Description
While on a early fall trip to Glacier National Park I wanted to capture sunrise from a little different place. I went to the Windy Flats area of Many Glacier which was on the edge of Lake Sherburne. There are a lot of great trees that would be perfect for a sunrise composition plus with the chance of seeing wildlife I thought this would be a good bet. Right before sunrise, the sky light up like a bonfire and the lake captured the reflection. Scrambling for a composition I settled on just a simple image of the lake and some of the grass in the foreground giving the image more of an abstract look.
I offer a variety of landscape, nature and wildlife images and fine art digital paintings. I also have many agricultural, farming and countryside images as well. Most of my work is from around the Pacific Northwest, Montana, Wyoming, Utah, British Columbia, and Alberta. Please look through my galleries or visit my website to view my full portfolio.

Very stunning sunrise Mark! Sometimes I think simple without trees is best. This is like a dream sunrise! I love it! L/f

Thank you Kathy. I agree with you about simple photos. For me, I try to look for a lot of elements to add to my composition making it to complex and tend to favor my simple compositions instead. If I were just enjoying the sunset without taking pictures. I wouldn't want anything in the way of this scene. Well, I wouldn't complain about a silhouette of a mouse on the lake shore :)
