Description
During winter, hundreds of Bald Eagles migrate to Wolf Lodge Bay on Lake Coeur D' Alene for the spawn of the Chinook salmon. These salmon are landlocked but spawn in shallow rocky bays in the lake. The Eagles then feed on the dying salmon. It is quite the spectale to watch this mighty birds swoop down and snatch a fish right out of the water. On one of my trips to see the eagles I took a brake from watching them fish and looked for other perspectives that I might be able to capture these beautiful birds. I found myself on a dirt road high above the lake. I came around a sharp corner and spoted this Eagle perched in the tree with the light perfectly hitting it. I stopped right away and was able to get a few shots before it took off.
