I showed up pre sunrise at Trillium Lake in Oregon to try to capture Mount Hood reflected in Trillium Lake. While the skies didn't produce the dramatic skies I was hoping for but it was still beautiful. Unexpected was the fog on the lake and sticking around after sunrise. Trying to take advantage it I went looking for a good subject. I was lucky to find this Great Blue Heron standing on a stump in the fog trying to catch some breakfast. I did my best to capture some shots before he flew off. This version I processed the background as high key to highlight the blue heron.
I offer a variety of landscape, nature and wildlife images and fine art digital paintings. I also have many agricultural, farming and countryside images as well. My photography focus is primarily nature and wildlife. I have a strong passion for the outdoors, capturing images that help preserve the numerous public lands and all that they offer. My travels take me all over the western united states to the common and not so common places. Many of my photos concentrate on the National Parks of Glacier, Yellowstone, Grand Tetons, and Arches National Parks. Other areas of my travels include Moab Utah, Central Oregon, the Oregon coast and many areas around my home State of Washington. Take your time and enjoy my images.
