After some late winter and early spring trips to the Palouse I had really wanting to get back. Especially for the wildflowers on Steptoe Butte. I had been looking at the weather and there were some storm cells moving through with a good chance the sun will be out for sunset. This is a great combination to try and capture some dramatic weather over the Palouse. On the way down I could see small storm cells all over and the sun was peaking out from behind them creating some great light. As I was ascending the butte I drove into some rain and as I went around a few more cures I found a partial rainbow. I quickly jumped out and looked for a composition. The rainbow was fading fast. Unfortunately the wind was blowing hard enough it was tough to capture the wildflowers. I tried a little of everything and this one I liked the best.

My photography focus is primarily nature and wildlife. I have a strong passion for the outdoors, capturing images that help preserve the numerous public lands and all that they offer. My travels take me all over the western united states to the common and not so common places. Many of my photos concentrate on the National Parks of Glacier, Yellowstone, Grand Tetons, and Arches National Parks. Other areas of my travels include Moab Utah, Central Oregon, the Oregon coast and many areas around my home State of Washington. Take your time and enjoy my images.
